As part of the AHRC-funded Neighbouring Data project, we’re delighted to invite you to our workshop, “Innovations in Community Engagement: Creative Methods and Qualitative Data”, on Friday 8 December 2023 at the University of Southampton. We’ll have academics, local authorities, government policymakers and community groups attending from across the UK.
Led by the Southampton Institute for Arts and Humanities (SIAH), this event will present our initial findings to open up a conversation on qualitative data needs—we want to understand who your data is for, and how it should be used, visualised, narrated and maintained. We’re specifically interested in co-creating a pioneering framework for a qualitative data observatory to help local decision-making. The framework will be developed and trialled using the insights we gain during this event.
We’d also like to thank partners for all their support and collaboration during SIAH’s And Towns projects—it’s been greatly appreciated, and you’ve done so much to enhance our research and impact.
After this event, we’ll send you our emerging recommendations, our guidelines for using qualitative data, and the next stages of our research programme.
