By exploring your values together as a team, you will learn to understand yourself and others much better. It will contribute to a stronger and happier team, helping to build self-respect, self-esteem and respect for others. It will help you when planning future projects or submitting funding bids, keeping a focus on your core priorities and what you want to achieve as a group.

What people say about We Value workshops
“I thought the We Value workshop was excellent. It helped me express and clarify my core values in an enjoyable way.
It also helped us participants reflect on and discuss our shared values, our different yet complementary skills and how we value each other. That feedback from my colleagues was so important to me and was an unexpected benefit that has warmed my heart!
My thanks to the facilitators for doing a great job.”
Liz Batten, Southampton Climate Action Network
“I would definitely recommend the workshop to others! I think it would be a great team building exercise and also very useful to new startups as they were beginning to form and/or communicate their vision.
I also appreciated the time to feedback on what improvements are needed within the Southampton infrastructure and outdoor spaces, and it was helpful and interesting to hear other people’s ideas too. ”
Abi Mason, Southampton Mental Health Network
“The We Value workshop was excellent and really useful for identifying my values and those of the team I work for. It was well-run, focussed and fun and we got to the heart of what we are about, an intense but rewarding experience. Our team has clearer direction coming out of it and I would recommend the workshop to all groups.”
Sam Goold, Community Development Worker, Southampton Voluntary Services
Research aims
These workshops are offered free because of a research project called “Infrastructure for Port and Coastal Towns”. We will ask you a few questions after the workshop. You don’t need to think about them in advance at all! We will ask how any of these infrastructures could be changed to support your preferred lifestyle better:
- Transportation systems and infrastructure
- Government systems and infrastructure
- City supply systems and infrastructure, like energy and water
- Social systems and infrastructure
