Friday Forum June 2017
June 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The next forum will be held at SVS on Friday 2nd June 9.30 – 12.15. This month we have a great opportunity for the sector to be involved through grants, contracts and affiliated membership in delivering the Southampton Healthy Living contract. We will also be updating you on the Advice Southampton consortium and the soon to be announced Information, Advice and Guidance contract from SCC. The agenda is as follows:
9.30 Welcome, introductions
9.40 Southampton Healthy Living – Ruth Marriott, CEO, SCA
The Southampton Healthy Living contract went live on 1st April and is being delivered by a consortium of SCA, Solent NHS and SVS. This session will focus on the small grants scheme and contracts that will be offered to the VCSE sector in Southampton to play a role in delivering the contract. If you’re a local organisation who’d like to play a role in helping people quit smoking, drink less alcohol, eat healthier and take more exercise then come and get involved!

About Friday Forum
In consultation with the voluntary sector we have transformed our voluntary sector forums to offer a monthly Friday Forum. This has proved highly successful and enables groups with different interests to come together explore local issues, with a view joint working.
Agendas have been varied, and have included the themes of Welfare Reform, Health Inequalities, Quality Assurance, and the reform of Southampton City Council grants. The Friday Forum, and other voluntary sector events, alongside our network of local organisations means SVS is well placed to provide a representative sector voice into a number of the city’s Strategic Partnerships.
This ensures decision makers are hearing the sector’s views, concerns and innovative solutions as they form local plans.
